I have always loved yoga. I love that I can begin every class knowing that I am going to finish feeling wonderful. When I discovered that I was pregnant with my first baby, I knew that embracing prenatal yoga would help make the journey an even more magical one and it did. I completed Jane’s pre and postnatal training about a month before my beautiful daughter arrived and it made such a positive difference to my classical Hatha yoga teaching and to my own practice. (For that I am forever grateful, Jane.)
Jane’s course was so thorough, yet so easy to follow. It was challenging, enlightening and at times, amusing. Jane was always available to help with any queries and provide super prompt feedback. I cannot recommend the course strongly enough.
After the arrival of my baby daughter in August 2007, I restructured my business to focus solely on mums and mums-to-be. I am now one of the lucky few who actually love going to work everyday. And the best part is, I get to take my daughter along for the ride. We now teach 7-8 classes a week, including prenatal, postnatal and mums and bubs. Everyday I am blown away by the strength and tenacity of my wonderful students.
Thank you so much, Jane. We wish you peace, sunshine and happiness.

Several years back, I became very interested in using my yoga experience to help moms-to-be. I felt then, and feel now, that the best thing that a pregnant woman can have on their side is education. Having gone through my Hatha certification through the Aura School, I opted to go the same route for my prenatal certification. What I soon discovered was that my great need to help moms to be was from a much deeper place than I originally thought. As I worked my way through the very educational and comprehensive modules that were designed by Jane, I knew that this was my niche.
Jane worked very closely with me, always encouraging me in a very nurturing way and sending positive feedback as I worked towards my goal. A real friendship blossomed that has lasted through to the present time. Once I had received my certification to work with pre and postnatal women, the help and support did not stop there. Jane has made herself available to me whenever I had questions or needed advice. Her kind and gentle way of teaching has impacted me deeply and I will be forever grateful for not only the vast education she has given me, but also the tools that her friendship has brought to my life as I continue to help my moms-to- be celebrate the miracle that is growing inside of them!
I would recommend Jane and her pre/postnatal certification course to anyone!

Linda opened her own studio after completing her studies and now offers antenatal and children’s yoga, in addition to general classes and Pilates. She has recently been invited to take her prenatal yoga program to Griffin Hospital’s (Derby, Conneticut) childbirth education department and offer on-site classes to pregnant employees and moms to be in the community.

I decided to enrol on the course last year when I started to get a succession of prenatal students in my general classes. This made me realise two things firstly, that it’s not ideal to incorporate pregnant students needs alongside general students needs, and secondly, I needed to know more in order to give prenatal students the best advice and guidance possible. I guess the pregnant ladies made me feel nervous. Although I had learned quite a bit about pregnancy yoga in my teacher training, I had never focussed on it and didn’t feel totally confident teaching it.
Since completing the course, I do feel totally confident about teaching prenatals. I now offer classes for antenatal students and love it! Sometimes the logistics of having a full class of 8 10 students don’t work, so I offer smaller classes, which works very well. It is more expensive, but in my experience women are happy to pay a bit more for individual attention because when they are pregnant. Jane was very approachable - she was always available to answer queries and we’ve stayed in touch.

My interest in prenatal yoga increased dramatically when I became pregnant with my first child in 2006. I was unable to find a pregnancy yoga class locally, so I continued to attend my regular class, which was fine. But I longed to be in a class with other mums to be, so we could really focus on our pregnant minds and bodies. That was when I started to look for a course in prenatal yoga, and found the Classical Yoga course with Jane. I was confident in my ability to teach yoga since completing my yoga teacher training, so the online course suited me; it also suited my schedule and my budget.
It was more demanding than I expected, but I learned a lot. I now teach two prenatal classes most weeks, I love doing it, and all of the hard work was covered in the course I had already done the studying, the lesson plans, and the handouts.
I’m very glad I did it; I love teaching pregnant ladies and now have more classes. Jane always responded to my questions promptly, my coursework was marked quickly and with clear explanations, and she was a source of friendly support and information. All in all, a very good experience for me. I would certainly recommend it to yoga teachers who want to expand their skills.

I studied with Jane Mackarness in the spring of 2006. I wanted more training in prenatal yoga. Our studio had many pregnant women at that time and there was no prenatal class in our area. I found Jane’s online class and signed up. I received the course work promptly. It was organized well with wonderful suggested readings. Jane answered questions quickly and promptly. I felt I was able to get feedback and help whenever I needed. When I started the course my goal was to get the knowledge to incorporate pregnant women safely in my classes. The course and Jane sparked an interest in prenatal yoga. I did an additional training last year and am now teaching a prenatal class at the studio. Had Jane’s course not been so well done I don’t know that I’d have continued with my studies. It truly is a blessing to share in this time with these women. Thanks so much.

The prenatal and postnatal program was insightful, resourceful, and it prepared me to confidently teach pre & postnatal yoga. I completed the program while I was pregnant and working full time. When I finished the program I started teaching at a yoga studio. The students loved the instruction, felt I was very knowledgeable in the area, and the class formed a wonderful community of women outside of class, that continued to meet after they delivered their babies.
I strongly recommend this program. Jane was quick to respond to all of my inquiries and she gave thorough and thoughtful exam explanations. The convenience of the online program, coupled with Jane’s facilitation, made it an attainable program in a short amount of time and at a fair price.
