Hatha certificationThe prenatal/postnatal yoga course is very comprehensive - the modules provide all the information you need to run informative classes. Jane's continued support and advice is invaluable - Jane is still in touch after my completion of the course! The course is enjoyable even though some of the assignments were challenging - I certainly gained more knowledge which has given me the confidence to be a better teacher. I feel very lucky that I found the course and would highly recommend it to any prospective pre and post natal yoga teachers - it is already opening new opportunities for me. Thank you so much Jane.

I completed Jane's online, pre and post natal yoga teacher's course and found it to be the best option to fit around my busy work load. It allowed me to work not only in my spare time but at my own pace. I found it to be demanding at times as there is a lot of research to be done and Jane is a stickler for presentation but very interesting and well laid out. You definitely feel supported as Jane's response to you is prompt, helpful and constructive.

Recently, I started my own prenatal pregnancy class and due to my learning from the course I can honestly say that I feel confident in the delivery of it and grateful for the handouts made earlier in the course. Being well prepared has made me relax and really enjoy working with this group of students. Thank you Jane for your encouragement throughout.

Jane is a really supportive and responsive tutor. She always provided help and assistance and lots of patience with me as I worked through the modules. The questions on this course are disarming - on first glance they look quite simple, yet they provide a great opportunity to research, explore and digest the many aspects of teaching pregnancy yoga. I am now equipped with handouts, course notes and lesson plans and lots of encouragement and confidence to teach this specialist area. Thanks for all of your help Jane.

I was attracted to this course for a number of reasons. It appeared very well structured, it was on-line and I was able to proceed at my own pace. It could be completed without the need to attend workshops in distant parts of the country. Jane was very happy to use e-mail and Skype to provide feedback, encouragement and advice, and was always very prompt and available when working through the modules, even while on holiday in Australia. She was quick to praise, and her suggestions for altering submissions always proved to be accurate and professional.

The materials provided were clear and stimulating, covering all aspects of pre and postnatal yoga teaching. I enjoyed learning from Jane a lot and admire her talent of combining a friendly approach with the ability to be demanding while assessing submissions. I am glad I enrolled on this course and will be happy to recommend it to anyone who wishes to explore this type of yoga.

The course is extremely well designed, you learn all the important points of teaching pre and post-natal yoga, and by the end of it you are fully prepared and ready to start your own class, equipped with hand-outs, class plans and answers to frequently asked questions. I would recommend Jane's course without a second thought. Jane, thank you very much for your patience and support throughout the course.

I found the course so fulfilling and educational. At first I was worried about doing a yoga course online, but after speaking to Jane (who was always there to help), I knew I was doing the right thing. Being a busy mum, pregnant with my third, and working as an acupuncturist and yoga teacher, I found the course manageable, and very informative and interesting. I often couldn't wait to finish my assignments! At the end of the course I felt very confident and had my handouts and lesson plans completed, and was totally prepared to start teaching my pre and postnatal classes. It was definitely the most enjoyable and well organised course I have done online.

This is an excellent course, and it was just what I needed to be able to teach yoga to pregnant and post natal women. As a practicing midwife and yoga teacher I thought this course would be easy and only take me a short while to complete - how wrong I was! I became really busy at work and Jane was very understanding about the time I took!

Jane has a lot of experience and her comments were really encouraging. Do this course and you will get all the support that you need!

Thanks again Jane.

This course was beneficial and accurate on all levels; it really gave me a solid foundation for teaching prenatal yoga. I started it while I was pregnant and applied everything on myself before teaching (I had a smooth, calm and very positive experience). What I really liked about this course (other than Jane!), was that I was able to really focus on the material and fit the course around my schedule. Learning online, unexpectedly gave me the time and ability to absorb more and understand the material in practice, and at my own pace. Jane has a very insightful and warm style of teaching that illuminates the material. I also felt she was engaged in my learning process, which was really motivating. I feel very confident teaching prenatal yoga now and my students are very happy with their results.

This Pre and Post Natal Yoga Teacher Diploma Course is simply outstanding! It is precise and intelligible. Jane gives invaluable feedback on assignments and responds to any queries promptly. She is extremely helpful and adds a personal touch to this online course making it a unique and incomparable experience. I am a yoga teacher in my 2nd trimester, and feel confident to pursue teaching prenatal classes after completing this course – I am now teaching my own prenatal yoga class. I have thoroughly enjoyed and benefited from these studies and highly recommend this course. Thanks Jane... sunny smiles and namaste!!!.

It was my first experience in online studying and first I wasn’t sure about the process and the results I would be able to achieve. But, the course was excellent. I am leading a busy life teaching yoga, being pregnant and working full time as a Marketing Manager. With this online course, I had the opportunity to devote as much or little time to my studies as desired and fit it around my busy schedule.

I have learned everything in a very effective and productive way. I feel well prepared and confident, and my Yoga bears classes for pregnant women, new mums and babies as well as young families are starting soon. Jane was always quick to respond to my questions and support me when I needed it, the course was great and I would recommend it, but be prepared to work hard:).

I was a little apprehensive about signing up to do this course through distance learning but I really enjoyed it and have gotten so much out of it. I found the content and course structure excellent and the assignments challenging and very achievable with effort. Jane has been so helpful and her feedback was so prompt and absolutely invaluable. After completing the course I feel very confident to teach pre-natal yoga and I am really pleased I enrolled on this course and would highly recommend it to anyone.

I have been teaching pre-natal yoga classes and have been really enjoying it. I've used every item I prepared in your course and I've had some really nice feedback from students. Thank you so much Jane!

I have just finished my first prenatal yoga course. Each of my students have had or are about to have their babies. There were five in all and each is having a boy! I started to advertise prenatal yoga as soon as I graduated from Jane's course. I had an immediate response and the students really enjoyed the class. I have been teaching yoga for over 10 years now and never felt comfortable when a pregnant mother wanted to take the class.

I used to do as most places do...simply modify the yoga poses to accommodate the mother's changing body. After the course, I realized there was so much more to know about yoga for this special population. I feel that I am well-trained to continue teaching. My students got so much more than just learning poses and breathing. They were all very prepared for the "big day". Thanks so much Jane for your knowledge and guidance through this course. It was truly worth it!.

I have always loved yoga. I love that I can begin every class knowing that I am going to finish feeling wonderful. When I discovered that I was pregnant with my first baby, I knew that embracing prenatal yoga would help make the journey an even more magical one – and it did. I completed Jane’s pre and postnatal training about a month before my beautiful daughter arrived and it made such a positive difference to my classical Hatha yoga teaching and to my own practice. (For that I am forever grateful, Jane.)

Jane’s course was so thorough, yet so easy to follow. It was challenging, enlightening and at times, amusing. Jane was always available to help with any queries and provide super prompt feedback. I cannot recommend the course strongly enough.

After the arrival of my baby daughter in August 2007, I restructured my business to focus solely on mums and mums-to-be. I am now one of the lucky few who actually love going to work everyday. And the best part is, I get to take my daughter along for the ride. We now teach 7-8 classes a week, including prenatal, postnatal and mums and bubs. Everyday I am blown away by the strength and tenacity of my wonderful students.

Thank you so much, Jane. We wish you peace, sunshine and happiness.

Several years back, I became very interested in using my yoga experience to help moms-to-be. I felt then, and feel now, that the best thing that a pregnant woman can have on their side is education. Having gone through my Hatha certification through the Aura School, I opted to go the same route for my prenatal certification. What I soon discovered was that my great need to help moms to be was from a much deeper place than I originally thought. As I worked my way through the very educational and comprehensive modules that were designed by Jane, I knew that this was my niche.

Jane worked very closely with me, always encouraging me in a very nurturing way and sending positive feedback as I worked towards my goal. A real friendship blossomed that has lasted through to the present time. Once I had received my certification to work with pre and postnatal women, the help and support did not stop there. Jane has made herself available to me whenever I had questions or needed advice. Her kind and gentle way of teaching has impacted me deeply and I will be forever grateful for not only the vast education she has given me, but also the tools that her friendship has brought to my life as I continue to help my moms-to- be celebrate the miracle that is growing inside of them!

I would recommend Jane and her pre/postnatal certification course to anyone!

Linda opened her own studio after completing her studies and now offers antenatal and children’s yoga, in addition to general classes and Pilates. She has recently been invited to take her prenatal yoga program to Griffin Hospital’s (Derby, Conneticut) childbirth education department and offer on-site classes to pregnant employees and moms to be in the community.

I had received some prenatal training when I went through my Hatha Yoga teacher certification program. I had read the books and had been teaching prenatal yoga for a year before I decided to get this special certification. So I thought this course would be a breeze, but I was challenged in unexpected ways and extended my knowledge far beyond what it had been. I learned something new with each module. Jane's support was invaluable and her comments always insightful and informative.

The format of the course allowed me to work through it at my own pace so that I could keep up with my regular teaching schedule. I very much enjoyed creating my own handouts and my students participated enthusiastically. They still laugh at “the hammock story”, my rather humorous take on the pelvic floor, usually a pretty dry subject. Fortunately, Jane appreciates that humor can teach what a straightforward statement of facts will often let slip right out of the mind.

I have continued to stay in touch with my prenatal students and now many of them come to my baby yoga classes as well. One of my biggest thrills is the first time I meet the baby of a former prenatal student – they will often turn their heads as if they recognize my voice! One mom told me it was “because he heard your voice every week for months, guiding us through relaxation”. I feel blessed to be able to work with such a special population of students. Thank you.

Namaste,

I just finished the prenatal course, and I wanted to tell you how happy I am with the course.

Jane is a great instructor. She is tough but fair. She really knows what she is doing. She is compassionate and I really enjoyed working with her. I learned so much.

Thank you for your time and dedication.

I completed the Pre and Postnatal Yoga Teacher course in 2005, and I am honored to extend my thoughts on this program. Having completed two other online courses, it gave me an opportunity to reflect upon the needs of students with this method of studying. I feel it is imperative that your guiding teacher provides you with quick responses to your questions, allows individual growth through the program, is compassionate and caring, and has a professional attitude towards the needs of all within their courses. Jane Mackarness was all of these and beyond.

I thoroughly enjoyed and learned so much from this program. I can say to anyone pondering, this is a wonderful course, you can’t go wrong with this choice and you will be provided with all you need as you journey through.

I decided to enrol on the course last year when I started to get a succession of prenatal students in my general classes. This made me realise two things – firstly, that it’s not ideal to incorporate pregnant students needs alongside general students needs, and secondly, I needed to know more in order to give prenatal students the best advice and guidance possible. I guess the pregnant ladies made me feel nervous. Although I had learned quite a bit about pregnancy yoga in my teacher training, I had never focussed on it and didn’t feel totally confident teaching it.

Since completing the course, I do feel totally confident about teaching prenatals. I now offer classes for antenatal students and love it! Sometimes the logistics of having a full class of 8 – 10 students don’t work, so I offer smaller classes, which works very well. It is more expensive, but in my experience women are happy to pay a bit more for individual attention because when they are pregnant. Jane was very approachable - she was always available to answer queries and we’ve stayed in touch.

My interest in prenatal yoga increased dramatically when I became pregnant with my first child in 2006. I was unable to find a pregnancy yoga class locally, so I continued to attend my regular class, which was fine. But I longed to be in a class with other mums to be, so we could really focus on our pregnant minds and bodies. That was when I started to look for a course in prenatal yoga, and found the Classical Yoga course with Jane. I was confident in my ability to teach yoga since completing my yoga teacher training, so the online course suited me; it also suited my schedule and my budget.

It was more demanding than I expected, but I learned a lot. I now teach two prenatal classes most weeks, I love doing it, and all of the hard work was covered in the course – I had already done the studying, the lesson plans, and the handouts.

I’m very glad I did it; I love teaching pregnant ladies and now have more classes. Jane always responded to my questions promptly, my coursework was marked quickly and with clear explanations, and she was a source of friendly support and information. All in all, a very good experience for me. I would certainly recommend it to yoga teachers who want to expand their skills.

I studied with Jane Mackarness in the spring of 2006. I wanted more training in prenatal yoga. Our studio had many pregnant women at that time and there was no prenatal class in our area. I found Jane’s online class and signed up. I received the course work promptly. It was organized well with wonderful suggested readings. Jane answered questions quickly and promptly. I felt I was able to get feedback and help whenever I needed. When I started the course my goal was to get the knowledge to incorporate pregnant women safely in my classes. The course and Jane sparked an interest in prenatal yoga. I did an additional training last year and am now teaching a prenatal class at the studio. Had Jane’s course not been so well done I don’t know that I’d have continued with my studies. It truly is a blessing to share in this time with these women. Thanks so much.

The prenatal and postnatal program was insightful, resourceful, and it prepared me to confidently teach pre & postnatal yoga. I completed the program while I was pregnant and working full time. When I finished the program I started teaching at a yoga studio. The students loved the instruction, felt I was very knowledgeable in the area, and the class formed a wonderful community of women outside of class, that continued to meet after they delivered their babies.

I strongly recommend this program. Jane was quick to respond to all of my inquiries and she gave thorough and thoughtful exam explanations. The convenience of the online program, coupled with Jane’s facilitation, made it an attainable program in a short amount of time and at a fair price.
